Welcome to Sturgeon Heights School

Accountability Pillar Overall Summary October 2011 - Sturgeon Heights School continues to perform very well on most areas selected by Alberta Education for Evaluation through surveys of Parents, Students and Staff. The School has one area of weakness for which it is required to provide a plan for improvement. Please review the strong results by clicking the link below. Although Preparing Students for the Workplace may not be the highest of priorities in a Kindergarten to Grade 9 school, it is part of the school’s mandate. Thus you will see the data and the plan to improve in that regard.

Sturgeon Heights School has a history of building students of character with a foundation for success. We have a reputation of strong academic programs and excellent results.

As well as putting a strong emphasis on academic achievement, the school provides a strong complementary program in the fine arts as well as an active extra curricular program. Our school sports teams compete in an inter-school league and in local tournaments. The school and community hold annual celebrations at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

Sturgeon Heights School prides itself in a safe, caring environment reinforcing the expectations of our community. We recognize that educating our children is a partnership involving our community, parents and staff. Through a collaborative process we have developed expectations for each stakeholder group and look to those expectations to guide our decisions.

All students are invited to ‘Dare to Soar’ with us at Sturgeon Heights School. We look forward to an exciting year geared toward meeting student needs and building a strong school community.
