Our bring your own device or BYOD program for grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 is an exciting way we can ensure students have appropriate access to collaboration, organization, and creative tools when they are needed. There are many devices that students could bring to work with in the classroom. However, we have found that using a Google Chromebook is the most practical and simple tool for school use.
To help parents who are considering purchasing a new device for their child’s school year, we have an agreement with BCOM Computer in North Edmonton for special pricing on a suitable Chromebook. If you are interested, start by going to their education website:https://www.b-com.ca/education/ When on that page click “REGISTER NOW” and enter our School Access Code: (please see email or call the school) , then create a login with your email and a password. When you click “SUBMIT” you will be taken to a Sturgeon retail page. The recommended models fall 2017 is a Lenovo N42 with a larger 14” screen or the N23 which is a bit more rugged and has better water resistance.
