Promotion and Special Placement
Students will usually progress through school at the rate of a grade per year. Occasionally, and for various reasons, this is not feasible, and the child may need to spend a second year in a grade. In other cases a child may require placement in a special instructional program. When either possibility exists, parents will be notified by March 1st, and kept informed on a regular basis. A student’s achievement level will be the major consideration in determining student placement recommendations. However, other factors such as intellectual, social / emotional and physical maturity, chronological age, ability and attitude will also be taken into account.
